SWIFT CURRENT, SK – We are excited to announce that the R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing No. 167 has committed $100,000 to the Southwest Facility Foundation. This brings the total raised by the Southwest Facility Foundation to over $4 million since July 2023.

This is the second R.M. in the Swift Current area to commit to the Foundation and their mission to bring new recreation facilities to Swift Current.

“The R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing No. 167 Council is thrilled to be able to contribute to such an incredible project that will impact so many in the southwest Saskatchewan community.” R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing Council

As a Foundation, we are very happy to see support coming from RM’s, farmers, and surrounding areas as we all benefit from indoor aquatic and sport facilities located in Swift Current. Facilities and organizations in Swift Current are used by the entire area — depending on the activity, around 30% of participants are from rural areas.

It is great to see rural municipalities stepping up in support of Recreational services in the Southwest.  A new Aquatic Centre for Swift Current would benefit all surrounding municipalities, towns and villages.  Thanks to the RM of Saskatchewan Landing for being leaders in the Southwest
- Jim Jones, City of Swift Current CAO & SWFF Board Member

Modern recreation facilities provide much-needed space for people of all ages to gather and be active - fostering a healthy and active community. New facilities benefit the entire Southwest by improving the quality of life and poising our region as an even better place to live and visit. Recreation facilities are proven to provide significant boosts to tourism, economic activity, and future growth.
