R.M. of Excelsior Commits to Support New Recreation Projects, Taking Total Over $5 Million

SWIFT CURRENT, SK – We are excited to announce a commitment of $200,000 from the R.M. of Excelsior, the commitment will span over 10 years and start on breaking ground. This is the third R.M. to make a commitment to the Foundation and takes the total raised to a new milestone of $5 million!
Funds will go towards supporting the City of Swift Current in building new recreation facility projects, such as the much-needed aquatic leisure centre and multi-sport fieldhouse. The Foundation continues to work with the City and to engage with the community and stakeholders regarding the importance and benefit of getting these projects underway.

Along with fundraising, part of the Foundation’s mission is to share and educate the community about the need, importance, and benefits of new recreation facilities in Swift Current. New facilities provide much-needed space for residents of all ages to gather and participate in a variety of recreational activities, fostering a healthy and active community. Recreation facilities are proven to provide significant boosts to tourism, economic activity, and future growth.
