SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Concrete Guy Inc. /Western Concrete Pumping, longtime supporters of youth athletics in Swift Current has committed a generous donation of $50,000 to the Southwest Facility Foundation’s campaign for new recreation facilities. This local business was inspired to support the Foundation on behalf of their daughters who have played on numerous Swift Current sports teams over the years.

“We compete in some very nice facilities around the province, and our town needs a quality leisure centre. Our family strongly believes in helping the community, and this is a way we can help get this project underway,“ says Blair Dyck, owner of The Concrete Guy and Western Concrete Pumping.

This commitment takes the Foundation to over $700,000 committed with more exciting announcements to come. The Foundation continues to raise funds towards their goal of $8 million in support of future recreational facility construction decisions made by City Council. The City of Swift Current will continue to leverage and lobby all levels of government for their assistance and support of future projects.

“We are very appreciative to Blair and Ana Dyck and their family for the amazing support of this project especially given that both their children will be graduating high school before this is built. It’s inspiring to know they felt compelled to help out given what sports has meant to them in their lives. Thank you to the Dyck family and we encourage others to consider helping out in whatever capacity they can!” - Travis Cuthbert, Foundation Board Member.

Along with fundraising, part of the Foundation’s mission is to share and educate the community about the need, importance, and benefits of new recreation facilities in Swift Current. New facilities will provide much-needed space for residents of all ages to gather and participate in a variety of recreational activities, fostering a healthy and active community. The benefits reach beyond the user groups and benefit the community as a whole by improving the quality of life in Southwest Saskatchewan and ultimately boost tourism, economic activity, and future growth.
